A conservatorship is needed in the event a person over the age of 18 is no longer able to care for themselves or make sound decisions. Conservatorships are typically for adults who have become incapacitated due to illness, injury, or age.
Limited Conservatorship
A limited conservatorship may be needed for a person over the age of 18 who was born with a mental or physical disability that impairs their ability to properly care for themselves or make sound decisions. Despite the name, this type of conservatorship does not limit the powers granted to the conservator.
